Why it carries over

The planning habits you built still matter.

For eighteen months or two years, planning was part of every day. You planned in the morning and looked back at night, set goals for the week, kept track of the people you were teaching, and knew your area street by street. Preach My Gospel taught missionaries to plan with purpose, and for a lot of returned missionaries that rhythm is one of the most useful things they bring home.

Then the mission ends, and the structure goes with it. School, work, dating, callings, and family all compete for the same hours, and most planning apps either do too little or try to do everything. Post-Mission Planner was built by a returned missionary for that transition. It keeps the shape of mission-style planning and fits it to the life you are living now.

Daily and weekly planning lives on the Calendar, where events get categories and people, and every interaction is remembered. With Full Access it connects Apple Calendar, Apple Reminders, Google Calendar, and Canvas feeds, so classes and shifts sit next to everything else. Mission goals become Goals & habits: spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual goals that repeat on the schedule you choose, from daily scripture study to a weekly temple trip. The people you taught and served become People, sorted into categories with an interaction summary for each. And your area becomes the Map, with ward friends, roommates, and the places you save shown as colored dots.

Post-Mission Planner is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Common questions

Questions from returned missionaries.

Straight answers about Preach My Gospel–style planning after the mission.

Is there a Preach My Gospel app for returned missionaries?

The planning tools missionaries use are built for missionary work, not for life after the mission. Post-Mission Planner is an independent iPhone app made for returned missionaries who want to keep a Preach My Gospel–style planning rhythm: a calendar for the day, spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual goals, the people you care about, and a map. It is not an official Church app.

Can I keep planning like I did on my mission?

Yes. Plan each day on the Calendar, set goals that repeat on the schedule you choose, add people to events so their interaction history builds up, and see your people and saved places on the Map. The habits are the same; the tools are built for school, work, family, and church life at home.

Is Post-Mission Planner affiliated with the Church?

No. Post-Mission Planner is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was built by a returned missionary as a personal planner for RMs.

Does it cost anything?

Post-Mission Planner is free to download, and the free plan covers daily planning, goals and habits, people, and account sync. Full Access is a one-time in-app purchase ($4.99 on the App Store) that adds Apple Contacts, Apple Calendar and Reminders, Google Calendar, and Canvas or .ics calendar feeds. There is no subscription.

Does it work with Google Calendar or Canvas?

Yes, with Full Access. You can connect Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Apple Reminders, and subscribe to a Canvas calendar feed or another .ics calendar, so school and work schedules show up next to the rest of your plans.
